This week in class we had a short tutorial on AfterEffects. This tutorial was very short and didn't really explain to much about the program but Carmen wasn't planning on going in depth on that program so its all good. After that we learned how to use the program called Dreamweaver, which is used to make websites. I was glad that we were finally learning this because I have been planning on making a website for the past year. The tutorial was a bit rocky because we had to switch computer labs but it gave enough information to get going on my website. I just started it and prefered to work on MACs. Next week is the last week and we have our website due as well as our Final Exam!

Macromedia FLASH

Today was a fun day in Carmen's 2D Class. We learned a tutorial on how to use macromedia flash and started working on our 3 week macromedia flash assignment. We had a few tutorials that showed us how to start our animations and we started working on our projects. Our group had trouble figuring out a way to bring them all together and make them into one big movie but my group is getting together on friday to discuss. Mid Terms

This week in Carmen's CS2202 Experience was mid terms. I thought it was a BREEZE, I didn't have any problems with it other then showing my history to Carmen herself but the entire class started to have the problem so it was OK. All we had to do was write alittle short description of what we did with photostop image from the mid term. Then after the midterm we had to present our InDesign projects. That went by fast and you can see my THE NICHE SKATEBOARD MAG here on my page.

Working With InDesign

This week in Carmen's class we have been working with a different program by Adobe called InDesign. The program is designed for making papers, brochures, newspapers, etc. Its basically for designing a paper with a good layout. The program isn't as hard to use as Illustrator was and at the same time its a pretty fun program. I just started working on my project due next week which is a magazine cover so that should be a good presentation for next week. Above are two different mini projects I did in InDesign today in class.

Week 4

Week 4 was a different kind of week, first off we had to give our presentations. My project was good and my presentation was good as well but I needed to look at the audience and give more eye contact. After the presentations we started using Adobe Illustrator. This is the part that I had trouble with. We had a tutorial and It didn't help me to much, I barely even got through the tutorial in the first place. After the tutorial we were suppose to do the same thing we did in black and white in color, and this is what I had to offer. It isn't good at all and I felt that If i had a better understanding of the program/another tutorial then I would more easily understand it. I felt that the lession on the Illustrator didn't give me much information on it and I need more help with the program.

Week 3 - Final Version of Project 2

This week in Computer Concepts we learned a more in-depth tutorial on Adobe Photoshop. We learned how to make the images smaller and larger, add effects to the images, and manipulate them in several different ways. After doing a tutorial that Carmen made, she made us start working on our first real project. The project is a Powerpoint presentation of Photo Manipulation. The powerpoint had to have the photo you made from the week before (see below) and show the steps you took to get the picture and give the techniques you used to get there. You have to show a before and after side-by-side presentation of your image showing the images you used at first, and then your final product.

Photoshop Project 1

This is the second week of school at the Art Institute of Tampa and In Computer Concepts we learned how to use Adobe Photoshop. The program is awesome and you learn how to manupilate images and make your own! We learned how to change colors of images, how to make them bigger and smaller, and how to add images together to make new ones. Week 2 of Computer Concepts flew by quick and I didn't even notice the 4 hours go by. The image above is a mix of "Afro Samurai" and another image called the "Dark Samurai".

My first class with Carmen

Hi my name is Nick "Niche" Kennahan and today (July 9th, 2007) is my first day attending the Art Institute of Tampa. My first class I have is Computer Conceptions and 2D Art and its very interesting. Im very excited to use the technology they have here at the art institute, which is extremely good. I am majoring in Interactive Media Design, which is a mix between graphic design and web design, and im trying to learn how to use all the programs of design on a computer. I want to learn how to master photoshop and use the great programs for web design. My past experience with computers is that I've had a few apple computers and I used to edit videos on Final Cut Pro. I love working with technology and computers and hope to learn much from my experiences at the Art Institute of Tampa.
